HAPPY MEMORIES

HAPPY MEMORIES

I gave Hilda her Christmas card
And present one December day,
Her face broke into a big smile
And this is what she had to say…

“Oh that`s lovely thank you my dear
But you shouldn`t buy me anything,
I buy you something for all you do
And to me that means everything”

I looked after Hilda every day
Which was a pleasure I have to say,
Our bond was not just carer but friend
It stayed that way right up to the end.

Hilda was nearly 100 years old
But ever so sharp it has to be told,
Not feeble in mind, body or soul
I loved her and my heart she stole.

For Hilda I have nothing but praise
Independent in so many ways
She was a strong lady I have to say
And I still miss her to this very day.
